The Vintage 2018: Our 9th Annual Trip to North Carolina

Happy Friday, friends!  Here in Noblesville it seems we’ve fast-forwarded right past Spring into Summer!  In North Carolina, however, the Spring rain storms kept normally hot and humid temps at bay and didn’t hamper the fun and enthusiasm of the weekend’s events one bit!

Reggie and I drove with the 1968 2002 in the trailer (no headrests, no modern seatbelts, etc.) and arrived late Wednesday night.  On Thursday we participated in Der Vintage Scavenger Hunt, taking us on a great tour in and around Asheville.  It was during this portion of the trip that our ‘02 was named Ralph.  See the photo in Reggie's previous blog post!  The art and graffiti in the River Arts District is just so cool!

On Friday, we drove to South Carolina to the BMW CCA Foundation for The ICON exhibit.  If you find yourself in the vicinity, I highly recommend checking it out!  Here are a few photos of some of the incredible vintage 2002s that were on display and that attended the day's event:

It was so cool to see the winner of our 2017 Open House on exhibit here!  Congrats, Jason!!!

Three speakers were on the agenda: Rob Siegel, Jackie Jouret, and artist Adrian Valentin Mitu.  This mural is amazing!  The artist was at the event to speak about his work for BMW!

Here is a detail shot of one portion of this painting:

After leaving the BMW CCA event, Reggie and I took a scenic route back toward Asheville to get some more photos of Ralph!  We found the last existing covered bridge in South Carolina.  While we couldn't park near it, we did walk around a bit to take a look.

As we left Campbell's Covered Bridge, there was a sign with directions to another old bridge. So off we went!  Again, we couldn't park near or on the old bridge, but it was very cool to see such an old structure! See our Facebook gallery for details of the bridge!  And the trees and rocks made for a cool backdrop!

Saturday was the main event in Hot Springs, and we caught up with some of our friends from Ohio and Kentucky as we drove there!  It was a perfect day for a car show, despite the afternoon downpours, and we have so many photos to share!  We'll share some favorites here and put them all in a gallery on Facebook for you to see.  Thank you to Scott Sturdy and his team of volunteers that made the event so much fun as usual!  It was great to see old friends and to make some new ones!  Can't wait for next year!

Once the main event was over, we parked Ralph and his fellow 50 year old birthday bimmer with matching wheels (Hi Ben!) for some photos!

A friendly reminder to mark your calendar's for our 11th Annual Open House on Saturday, June 16th!  Get all the details and RSVP here! Thanks for tuning in to this week's special post!  Have a great weekend!

We value our community and helping the next generation.

Our founder, Reggie Stewart, taking part in a panel discussion at @noblesvilleschools about their internship program, which we have taken part in over the years. This panel was held as part of their Miller Ambassadors program, which Reggie is part of.

To the left of Reggie is Alaina Shonkwiler (@alainafornoblesville), who is currently running for Indiana District 29 State Representative. Alaina was part of the team that placed interns for Noblesville Schools and has also been involved with businesses that have hosted interns.

The rest of the panel was made up of @noblesvillehighschool students involved in the internship program.

The internship program encompasses many industries and is supported by several local businesses. We believe in the internship program at NHS, as we want to help grow the next generation and allow them to learn about careers that they may not have had access to, and allow them to see if this could be a career path they would enjoy.

Part of our staff will be attending STX Supplier & Training Expo in Nashville, TN to take part in training from 4/24 - 4/26.

With our staff at training, our response times to phone call and messages may be a bit slower than normal and are cutting back on appointments for those days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you.
