Replacing tired tie rods

Happy December!  We had our first real snow of the season a few days ago, as you may have seen if you follow us on Facebook.
It’s been another busy week with multiple projects going on in the shop.  Last week we left off with some work on the 1986 BMW 325 swap car project.  Reggie has since worked on the wiring harness.

We’ll be back with more on that project later!  We did some work on a 1989 BMW 325i with just under 250,000 miles to get it ready for winter driving.  It got new odometer gears, fuel filter, fuel hoses, and fuel sending unit 0-ring.  A factory jack, lug wrench, and mounting hardware for the spare tire were added.  Also, this bimmer got dressed with new front tie rods.  The driver’s side tie rod had a little too  much play at the outer tie rod, while the passenger’s side had too much play on the inner tie rod.  Next week, Reggie will be installing a newer used e30 fuel tank, as the current one has some leaks.

Once the front wheels and tires were removed, it was time to remove the old tie rods.

After installing the new tie rods, the car got an alignment.

Stay tuned next week…we have an e36 that is getting a lot of maintenance work, new suspension parts, wheel bearings, all kinds of stuff!

Have a great weekend!

We value our community and helping the next generation.

Our founder, Reggie Stewart, taking part in a panel discussion at @noblesvilleschools about their internship program, which we have taken part in over the years. This panel was held as part of their Miller Ambassadors program, which Reggie is part of.

To the left of Reggie is Alaina Shonkwiler (@alainafornoblesville), who is currently running for Indiana District 29 State Representative. Alaina was part of the team that placed interns for Noblesville Schools and has also been involved with businesses that have hosted interns.

The rest of the panel was made up of @noblesvillehighschool students involved in the internship program.

The internship program encompasses many industries and is supported by several local businesses. We believe in the internship program at NHS, as we want to help grow the next generation and allow them to learn about careers that they may not have had access to, and allow them to see if this could be a career path they would enjoy.
