March Madness: Not Just for Hoops

We enjoyed a quick break from the Indiana weather last week, and now we're back in the good ol' Midwest where we've had rain, snow, wind, and sun all in the past few days. Enter March Madness. And I'm not just talking about college basketball. The shop continues to see a steady, surging stream of BMW's, and we love it! As with the last few blog posts, I'll just be touching on a few of the things happening around here. Reggies MotorWorks | Repairing BMW, Audi, Mercedes We're excited to announce that we are hosting a special event with the Hoosier Chapter BMW CCA here at Reggie's Motorworks on Saturday, March 19th, at 11am: "Introduction to Car Maintenance for Women (and Men)". You do not have to be a club member to attend! At this special event, Reggie will go over some important maintenance and safety features about tires, including how to check tread depth and tire pressure, how to change a tire with a factory jack, how to check fluids, and much more. Please RSVP via the Hoosier Chapter BMW CCA website by clicking on Upcoming Events for all of the details. Let's start things rolling with this fun little car, shall we? This arktissilber-metallic 1999 Z3 M Coupe came in for a fair amount of work, including a new clutch kit; new blower motor resistor; differential bushings; check, clear, and reset airbag codes; replace damaged center console trim; replace instrument panel bulb; and checking the driver's side window for a binding issue. Some of you know the history of this particular car, especially if you've attended one of our Friday Night Cruise-Ins last year. We like to call it the infamous "Zionsville ix." If you don't know the story, be sure to ask us about it at one of our upcoming events! For now, back to business at hand! Reggies MotorWorks | Repairing BMW, Audi, Mercedes After a bumper to bumper inspection, she'll be getting all geared up for spring with the following: lubricating the front driveshaft, servicing the transfer case, replacing one front axle, new rear brakes, pads, and sensors, as well as a replacing the rear window with a good used one with a working defroster. On a side note, we received what we were told was a "nice short block" for the 1992 BMW 735i...well, let's just say they are refunding our money and picking it up next week. Reggies MotorWorks | Repairing BMW, Audi, Mercedes The search continues for a proper cylinder block. We're not giving up! And after uncovering the floor pans of the '87 325...Reggie found rust. Lots and lots of rust. But alas, there is good news for this bimmer! She'll be undergoing restoration soon! So be sure to stay tuned for more on this one! Reggies MotorWorks | Repairing BMW, Audi, Mercedes That's all the time we've got for now! Have a great weekend!
