It’s Friday. Friday the 13th. And despite the date, we’re feeling lucky. Why? Because the heatwave that we’ve endured the past couple of weeks has subsided…for a little bit, at least. And because of the cooler temperatures, we’re excited to have a Cruise-In tonight! So come on over starting at 6pm to hang out and enjoy a nice evening!
A quick reminder that voting is still open for the IndyChannel.com’s A-List! We’re up for Best Repair, and we’d love to have your votes! Cast yours here! Thank you!
Back to official business! Let’s take a quick peek at some of what’s been happening this week here in the shop!
This e30 cabrio, a 1989 BMW 325i, came in for some gauge cluster issues as well as a transmission leak. While she was here, she also got a new timing belt and water pump, along with a brake fluid flush. Now she’s ready to get back on the road for some summer time cruising! Gotta love that!
Another e30 cabrio came in for a new steering rack, coupling, and control arm bushings. New tires were also on the list for the ’87 325i.
This sharp 1995 BMW 540i came in some work, including an oil change, new belts and tensioner, fuel filter, front brake hoses, and new rear sway bar links.
As most of you know, Reggie and I are expecting our first little one in September, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s a boy! We’re both hoping he has an affinity for cars and photography! 😉 More importantly, despite our small fleet of vehicles, we only have one true family car, my Honda CR-V. This e34 ’95 525i came up for sale here in Noblesville not too long ago, and we took a look at it last weekend…and we bought it! It turns out that this bimmer needs a little more work than we originally hoped and thought, but that’s ok because we happen to specialize in BMWs! Take a look at our new family car!
This isn’t going to be your ordinary e34…just a little hint: no emblems!
The interior is very nice, and she’s a 5-speed! Yes!
And here’s another hint:
This cable for the traction control actuator replaced the old one:
Broken knock sensors were replaced:
New belts and hoses:
New exhaust gaskets:
New wiper blades:
New belt idler pulley and belt tensioner pulley:
The fan clutch was replaced:
Brand new water pump:
Reggie was able to salvage the short shift lever (vertical piece) for the e34:
This old A/C compressor was replaced:
New transmission mounts:
New shaft seal:
Shiny new grille moldings!
Ok, perhaps this is a better hint, but after this, the rest is top-secret… for now, anyway! Paint color: “Rat Rod Satin Black” I’d imagine that we’ll be talking more about this project at tonight’s Cruise-In!
Have a wonderful weekend!
