Today is a very special day. Why? It's Reggie's birthday!!! Reggie, Happy Birthday!!! I'm so proud of you - you're hard-working, you do what you love, and you inspire me each and every day. Love you! To celebrate the occasion, and the fact that we had such a productive week, we picked up lunch from Big Hoffa's BBQ
. Yum!!! If you've never had Big Hoffa's, we certainly recommend it! Jordan worked on installing this good, used black/gray houndstooth interior in a 1987 BMW 325is. The client was so excited when he saw the new interior!
We're also working on this fantastic 1988 BMW M3. She'll get new front engine mounts, a new thermostat, and a new distributor cap and rotor. The interior was removed for some rust repair. And we've diagnosed and repaired an A/C leak. The A/C system will be evacuated and fully recharged.
And John's been busy getting the 1968 BMW 2002 that much closer to getting back on the road! Once the body work is finished, it'll be time for her engine replacement!
John made a good point. While these replacement panels are indeed from the factory, they can be, and usually are, far from perfect. A careful eye is needed to fill in any imperfections on the panel. There were some imperfections in the metal on these replacement panels. Fortunately, there was plenty of primer to work with to fill in any areas that needed attention.
Once all the body filler is properly sanded to John's satisfaction, he'll be able to apply primer:
John has also been working on our 1969 2002:
The 1969 2002 all primed up:
Both of these vintage beauties are coming along! Oh yes the are!
Over the weekend, after finishing up some work, Reggie whipped out his pin-striping brushes, mixed up his own cool shade of green and created this cool design:
I'll sign off here so that we can go celebrate Reggie's birthday a little more! We'll be checking out the cars at Mecum! Have a great weekend!
