Back on The Road: 1968 BMW 2002
We’ve been blasted with a mid-summer heatwave this week at the shop. To say it has been really hot would be an understatement. It has been very, very hot! And humid! And we’ve been working on a number of pretty cars this week which have helped to distract the guys from the heat.
Last week’s cliffhanger blog post left us with the engine ready to be installed in the ’68 2002. Let’s take a look at how things went!
Reggie removed rust from the battery box and cleaned it properly before priming and painting it to match the engine bay:

Reggie took the ’02 for her first official test drive Thursday morning, and I heard him say it drove like butter…so smooth, so nice. Needless to say, the owner is quite excited to get her back!
Remember this gorgeous 2006 BMW M3 from our Cruise-In last week? She’s in the shop to have a power steering line, mirror, and glove box latch replaced.
We’re also working on this chamonix 1978 BMW 320i with just over 218k miles on the clock. We’re retro-fitting the A/C system from a 1983 BMW 320i. Cool! (Pun definitely intended!) It appears that this bimmer did have A/C at some point, and that it was later removed.
