Happy Friday! It's been another busy, busy week! Remington and I stopped by the shop for a quick visit to see the guys in action! Before we get to that, let's talk about our event last weekend. It was a great success, and quite a fun time! Reggie and John discussed safety in your home shop - everything from safety gear, power tools, putting your vehicle on jack stands, and more! A huge thank you to Hoosier BMW
for providing lunch! And thank you to all of our attendees for coming!
Of course, proper eye protection is a must:
During the lunch break, Reggie demonstrated the sheer force of an air bag!
Then it was time to talk about putting a vehicle on jack stands:
We then compared that to putting a bimmer on a lift:
Thanks again to everyone who helped make this safety session a success! We look forward to more events in the future! And now back to business! This 2003 Audi A4 came in for a few items: diagnosis of service lights, airbag warning indicator, running and shifting issues, and a CD stuck in the CD player:
This e30, a 1989 BMW 325i, came in with some idle issues:
If you've been to the shop, no doubt you've noticed this track car outside! This 1987 BMW 325is had some work done a few weeks ago
, and now was getting a dust/heat shield fabricated and installed to protect the air filter:
This cardboard template made fabricating the shield a lot easier:
These e36 M3s kept each other company:
Next, we have this 1997 BMW 318ti with an extremely rare California top. She came in with some top issues, as well as a window that needed to be fixed, and a light bulb out in the gauge cluster:
This 2005 BMW 745Li had quite a bit of work done: replace leaking upper timing cover gaskets, new brake vacuum pump, new valley cover gasket, transmission fluid leak repair, new transmission filter and fluid, new control arm bushings, new front brake pads and rotors, an alignment, and a few other odds and ends!
A fuel smell inside this 1995 BMW M3 in dakar gelb needed to be diagnosed:
The same owner brought in his fjord blue 1975 BMW 2002 to evaluate engine performance, diagnose an inoperable heater, and to have the A/C system removed:
We'll wrap up today's post with the sweet 2005 Mercedes AMG SLK55. She came in for a new exhaust manifold due to cracked weld:
Tomorrow Reggie and I will be participating in the Indy SCCA
Rally, alongside a few other teams from Hoosier BMW! He'll be behind the wheel while I navigate. I have a little bit of previous navigating experience during our last trip to the Vintage
...so I'm hoping to pull from that! Wish us luck! Speaking of the Vintage
, the countdown is on - we're one month away, and we couldn't be more excited! If you're interested in going, check out the details for the Caravan to The Vintage here
. Have a fantastic weekend!
